Coney Island, Brooklyn, June 2015

I went to Coney Island, and I got lost in the sand

In the lights

In the boardwalk breeze and the

Tambourines and dancing

In the summer haze of a

Sunset, and children giddy from

Ocean waves, I sipped on a

Soda that fizzled and popped in my mouth

Clicking roller coasters ticked like clocks to the

Rhythm of ocean waves and skateboards

Rolling through the crowd, coasting

To their own tunes

I went to Coney Island, and I found my heart

In the evening mist

In the ocean spritz

In the neon pinks and blues

Of signs

     And rides

And games

And I felt

Once again
